Got to shred up at Windells session 2 for the Downtown Throw Down session sponsored by Lib Tech. It was a blast! The weather was a little bit unfavorable with some fog and one rain day. But we got 2 sunny days so it was all good! All the bad weather on the mountain meant was more time in the concrete jungle on my skateboard!
If the outdoor park got some rain then it was all good you just head into B.O.B. the indoor playground for all ages.Throwin it back with lazy boy flip off a steep bump. Nothin like gettin inverted in the summertime.
Since the weather was kinda crap, jumps were not safe to hit so I just hiked a lot of rails. For some reason I dont session rails very often because Jumps are always on my mind, but it was so much fun hiking some rails with the Lib-Tech snowboard crew. Theres nothing better to watch on rails than some damn good boarders. So I worked for a few tricks on the rails and made some shots in the Windells session 2 edit. Check it out homies!
It's definitely a party when the Line Team takes over Windells. The week was full of shenanigans, wild weather, and laps on laps with some of the best skiers in the biz. A little bit of rain wasn't stopping this crew from having the best time at the "funnest" place on earth. Just keeping it mahalo at Windells bro.
Jim Sanco works hard, and when hes not in the office at Blackstrap hes filmin edits up at Mt. Bachelor. Peep the latest one. Thanks for giving me the ender Sanco!
So last week Ben Ferguson, Peter Alport and I set out very early in the morning, 2 AM to be exact. This mission involved snowmobiles, skinning/touring, bootpacking, exploring, building, and shredding some nice corn snow in the Oregon BC. Our early start payed off and we executed the plan of reaching our hip feature as the sun was just cresting the horizon. This provided optimal light for getting crispy photos.
Heres a shot of Pete cruising to the zone. Seeing the sun come up is one of the most peaceful things one can experience. Though it is extremely hard stay awake at this hour I strongly suggest enjoying a sunrise in the mountains on a clear day. Theres nothin like it!!!
After we got a solid Session in on our feature Ben and I bootpacked up a line that was approximately 1,300 vertical ft.
Reading 8:30 AM on my clock at the top of this line that took 2 miles of skinning and 1,300 ft. of bootpacking to get there was a accomplishing feeling. That is the feeling that that I strive for in life. Over coming the challenge of reaching the zone and getting to shred a line that few if any at all have skied before. IN JUNE!!!!!!!!!!
Couldn't have been more stoked to shred this terrain with Ben Ferguson. Ben and I have been friends for a long time and now a days we dont get to shred together very often, and it was so fortunate that we got to rip this line together like old times! Ben is a little beast and is one of my favorite dudes to watch rip. Serious powerhouse!
Okay so we rode our lines successfully with no crashes and on to the next feature we go!
Ben and I both got our tricks on the stepdown and continued to finish the day with a sick step over/ step down jump. We dug for a little to make a nice kicker then proceeded to session until our legs gave out! There is no photos of the step over jump because I think I was so tired at this point that taking a instagram shot of it didn't even enter my mind, and Pete is sitting on the banger photos from the session for possible mag usage or some other media outlet.
After we got our tricks and enjoyed the views we moseyed our tired asses out of the zone and skied almost all the way back to the sleds. Had to finish it out with a little 30 min. skin up to where we parked. This was a brutal time, using every last ounce of energy in each step to reach our luxury motorized snow traveling devices. It was the longest day I have ever had skiing starting at 2AM and finishing at 5:30 PM, worth every second spent in the serenity of the central cascades.
Heres a leaked photo from Peter Alport on the mid day Hip session. Thanks for reading folks!
Enjoy this 16:52 of pure mayhem and destruction. TRE SQUAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
